Name Origin

Ganzi (Garzê) is named after the Ganzi/Ganze region in Tibetan, meaning "white and pure." It is a Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in western Sichuan on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau.

Natural Resources

Ganzi lies on the southeastern Tibetan Plateau with high mountains, grasslands, glaciers, and deep river valleys. It has an alpine climate and is home to Mount Gongga (Minya Konka), the highest peak in Sichuan.
